About PIL

Pipeline Infrastructure Limited owns and operates a 48 inch diameter pipeline from Kakinada (AP) in the East to Bharuch (Gujarat) in the West with an overall Pipeline Network of 1480 km, including spur and dedicated pipeline. It is India’s first bi-directional pipeline.

PIL acts as the vital link in supplying clean and green energy in a safe, sustainable, and reliable manner. The above-ground facility of the PIL pipeline includes 10 Compressor Stations with a total installed power of 900+ MW. PIL is owned by India Infrastructure Trust sponsored by Brookfield Asset Management (BAM), a global leader in alternative asset management. It is authorized as a Common Carrier Pipeline by the Government of India and accepted by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB).

Arun is a former Chairman & Managing Director of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) & Founder Chairman of HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd. (HMEL), a Joint Venture Refining Company of HPCL and L.N. Mittal Investments at Bathinda in Punjab. He was also Chairman, Scientific Advisory Committee, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt of India. Currently, he is Non-Executive Independent Director on the Boards of many prestigious companies.
His expertise, inter alia, includes Science & Technology, Project Management, Finance, Human Resources and General Management.
A graduate in Chemical Engineering, he completed his Post Graduation in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore in 1976. He is the recipient of “The Distinguished Alumni Award 2008” from his alma mater, the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Mihir Nerurkar

Mihir is Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer – Brookfield’s Infrastructure Group. In this role, he oversees the governance and overall performance of Brookfield’s Infrastructure portfolio companies in India.
Mihir joined Brookfield in 2018 with over 18 years of experience in real estate and professional services. He began his career as a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting in New York. He subsequently held roles as a Chief Operating Officer and Senior Director of a real estate firm and served as an advisory board member of a boutique investment bank.
Mihir holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Pune University in India and a Masters from Syracuse University.

Varun has 16+ years of experience in Risk, Advisory and Assurance.
Currently, he is working with Brookfield as Vice President of Portfolio Management. He has also worked in the Risk domain for leading banks and consultancy firms like Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, and Ernst and Young.

Her experience includes managing Board relationships, fundraising, equity raising, mergers and acquisitions, business partnering, finance, accounting, reporting, procurement, legal and secretarial.

Sanjay is spearheading Reliance's Oil and Gas Business. He has nearly 26 years of global experience in the Oil and Gas industry. Before RIL, he was part of leading MNCs - Schlumberger in Houston, Texas and Petroleum Geo-Services in the United Kingdom.
Sanjay is currently a Director on the Board of Pipeline Management Services Private Limited and India Gas Solutions.
Mr. Roy has a B.Sc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, USA.

Chaitanya Pande

Chaitanya is an executive with over 25 years of experience in credit, finance, and investments. He was previously Principal and MD at Lions Head Alternatives, responsible for acquisitions, credit, and structuring. Previously, he was EVP & Chief Investment Officer (Fixed Income and Structured Products) at ICICI Prudential AMC, where he ran a USD 12Bn+ Fixed Income and Structured Products portfolio. He Currently advises Northern Arc (IFMR) Investment Managers on Investment and Product Strategy as well as the Insurance businesses of the Shriram group on fixed-income investments.
He was awarded Debt Fund Manager of the Year by Business Standard in 2012, Morningstar awarded funds under his management Best Debt Fund House for three years and Best Debt Fund House by CNBC TV18 CRISIL in 2010. Before ICICI Prudential, he was with Jardine Fleming Asset Management for over 7 years.
Chaitanya has a PGDBA from IMI Delhi and a Bachelor's in Mathematics from St. Stephens College, Delhi. He also sits on the board of Northern Arc (IFMR) Investment Managers, a leading Impact Debt Investment Manager.

Kavita is an Independent Board Director and Business Leader, with extensive experience with Global and Indian Banks across Corporate Banking, Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Relationship Management, Investment Banking, Corporate Strategy and Governance. She has worked closely with India’s corporate leaders across sectors and supported them in building their businesses.
In a career spanning over 3 decades, Kavita has held diverse leadership positions with Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, India (CEO), Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited, ANZ Grindlays Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, YBL etc.
Presently, she is on the Board of several listed and unlisted companies and is also chairperson/member of various board level committees of such companies.
Kavita holds Master of Business Administration from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi & Bachelor of Arts, Economic Honours from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi.

Archa is a Vice President in Brookfield's Infrastructure Group. She is part of the team managing investment activity in India and Middle East regions. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2023, she was an Executive Director in Goldman Sachs Investment Banking team in Mumbai.
Archa holds Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (now NSUT).

Akhil Mehrotra is a business leader in Energy sector with over 31 years of experience across Oil & Gas, Power, and Telecom industries. He has spent more than 18 years in leadership roles leading P&L of multiple companies, M&A deals and has been instrumental in transforming business performance.
In his previous role, Akhil has been Chairman of Mahanagar Gas Limited, a Fortune 500 company and listed on Indian Stock Exchanges. He has also been on Boards of various companies including Shell Energy India and Hazira Ports Private Limited. Before joining PIL as its CEO in July 2019, he was associated with Shell (including BG Plc) for 16 years and with Reliance Group for 9 years.
Akhil is a BE in Mechanical Engineering, MBA in Finance, and a PhD in Gas Markets.

As the Chief Operating Officer at Pipeline Infrastructure Limited (PIL), Pradeep Kumar Chauhan is responsible for gas pipeline operations. He brings more than 32 years of experience spread across engineering, commissioning, project management and Operation & Maintenance of various brown & green field projects in Fertilizer and Oil & Gas Sector. He is to be credited for the successful completion of two Fertilizer projects, Natural Gas cross country pipeline, CBM cross country pipeline and Cryogenic cross-country pipeline. Prior to joining PIL, Pradeep was associated with brands such as Synthetics and Chemicals Ltd, Chambal Fertilizer & Chemical Ltd. Reliance Gas Transportation Infrastructure limited, Reliance Gas Pipeline Limited. Over the years, Pradeep Chauhan has performed array of leadership roles such as Head- Maintenance, Material & Contracts, and Head Field O&M.

Anoop Naik is a seasoned Project & Operation management professional with 26 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry spread across planning, problem- solving and developing business plans, policies, and processes. Anoop started his career as a Management trainee (Inspection) at Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS), a Switzerland based third-party inspection company. He has worked with GR Engineering Ltd for 10 years as a Project Manager handling projects related to Refinery and Petrochemical. He joined Reliance in 2008 as Regional Planning Senior Manager. He currently holds the appointment as a Chief Technical Officer at PIL.

Mahesh is an accomplished Finance, Procurement & Supply Chain Management professional. He is a Chartered Accountant & Company Secretary by qualification with more than 20 years’ experience in Oil & Gas Upstream and Gas Transmission, Consulting services (in Oil & Gas, Power, etc.) and Steel Business at established entities such as GAIL, CRISIL (A Standard & Poor Global Company) and Vedanta Ltd.
Prior to joining PIL as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in September 2022, he was the CFO of the Steel Business at Vedanta Limited. During his 13 years at Vedanta Limited, he has had the opportunity of working with departments including Corporate Communication, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Finance, Supply Chain Management and Procurement. He also spearheaded high impact projects in Finance, Procurement, and Inventory Management in addition to multiple process automation projects using RPA.

Emani holds the position of Chief Commercial Officer (COO) at PIL and looks after Gas Transportation Marketing, Regulatory affairs including PNGRB and Legal matters. His career started from C&AG of India initially for 2 years, followed by 22 years in GAIL (India) Ltd., followed by 12 years in Reliance Industries Ltd. Emani has over 36 years of experience in Hydrocarbon Sector, pre-dominantly in Natural Gas and Gas Transportation commercial matters.
While in GAIL, EVS handled all facets of Finance and Accounts including Project, O&M, Marketing Finance besides co-ordination with Regulators, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Tariff Commission. While in Reliance, he handled regulatory matters, Finance, and Accounts, litigation management at all levels, (i.e., Appellate, High courts and Supreme Court), Gas Transportation contract negotiation and finalization, operation of contracts and marketing business operations, co-ordination with Govt. Agencies, including the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and PNGRB for tariff finalization and compliance management.

Manali Nagory heads the Human Resource Department including Administration with expertise in organizational development projects, performance & talent management, learning and development and HR strategy department. She has over 12 years of experience across Education, BFSI, Oil & Gas, Consultancy sectors.
Prior to PIL, Manali was a part of the Centre of Excellence Team at Yes Bank handling transformative organization vide development projects of productivity analysis, rewards & recognition, performance management, talent management, leadership development and Diversity & Inclusion. As a consultant, she has developed and executed various employee centric learning interventions for various companies like Nature’s Basket, Mercedes Benz, Malabar Gold and PNG.During her tenure as a Faculty Associate with IILM, in the area of Organization Behaviour, she developed an interest in Learning and Development and advanced her knowledge to understand personnel management and skill development processes.

Sourav a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 19 years of Risk advisory experience across Consulting and Industry majors. Sourav is responsible for design, delivery and improvements of ABC/ Ethics program, delivery of risk based Internal Audit plan, systematic deployment of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and HSSE program, Compliance, BCP and Insurance Programs. Also responsible for driving focus on entity wide ESG initiatives.
Sourav has worked extensively in PwC and KPMG as part of their Assurance and Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) groups. He has led several projects involving design, deployment and improvement of risk and control frameworks across large and complex industries, particularly in the Manufacturing and Energy sector. After his consulting stint, he joined Barclays Control Environment Centre of Excellence - leading a bespoke team to deliver key governance and compliance driven services to Barclays Retail Banking (BRB) Business Units across geographies through a shared service model. Moving on from Barclays, he was at Cairn Oil and Gas (earlier Cairn Energy plc. and later taken over by Vedanta Resources Plc.) responsible for providing assurance to Board Committees in oversight role. He led several risk and control initiatives including systematic operationalization of Cairn Risk Management Program, review of critical business processes, development of fraud risk management program and investigation protocol, deployment of Control Self- Assessment (CSA), and automation of review and monitoring processes.
